Blacklist remediation checklist

A listing is a symptom. Fix the cause before you request removal.

Confirm the listing

  • Match the exact IP or domain scope shown in the alert.
  • Note the list operator and any evidence URL provided.

Fix the root cause

  • Stop problematic sending paths immediately.
  • Review compromised accounts, open relays, and sudden volume spikes.
  • Correct authentication and bounce handling where relevant.

Request delisting

  • Follow the operator process only after the issue is resolved.
  • Document what changed so the request is credible.

Prevent recurrence

  • Keep monitoring enabled so new listings surface quickly.
